Redfeather Snowshoes
was created in 1988 by a Colorado triathlete. The design, incorporating a
V-tail lightweight aluminum, took snowshoeing from something that just got you from "here" to "there" and transformed it into the recreational and high performance sport that it is today.
Redfeather Snowshoes are proudly made in the USA at ORC Industries in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where snow is never scarce commodity. Redfeather Snowshoes are now available in rounded tail recreational models, and in youth sizes.
Today, snowshoeing is one of the fastest growing seasonal sports in the United States. Whether a person is a snowshoe racer or an occasional hiker, a deep powder snowshoe junkie or just someone who would like to safely exercise and get a great workout, Redfeather has a snowshoe that will fit your style and comfort level.
Redfeather continues to lead the snowshoe industry in technology and development with the ratcheted binding system, interchangeable bindings and crampons, a free sliding heel plate that adjusts to the user's boot size, and a wide variety of models to fit anyone's style, age, or experience level.

 It might be for your feet, but every one is made by hand.
You can't make Redfeather snowshoes with just the push of a button, then come back later. Every Redfeather is assembled by hand in our La Crosse plant. And obviously, every Redfeather is also inspected thoroughly before it ever leaves the shop floor.

 Why ORC Industries and Redfeather?
ORC Industries has done a great deal of work for the US Armed Forces for many years. We have been through times when defense contracts were plentiful, and we have seen times when cutbacks on government spending truly affected us. Our mission was, is, and will continue to be to advance the independence, productivity and self-sufficiency of people with disabilities through employment opportunities. We are obligated by our mission to continue to provide our employees with these work opportunities.
