Pre-Vocational Program

PRE-VOCATIONAL PROGRAM

Improving individual skills; improving one’s independence; and improving vocational ability.

This is the focus of ORC Industries’ Pre-Vocational Program, conducted at ORC Industries’ facility in Arcadia, Wisconsin.

Pre-Vocational Program Training Instruction Includes:

  • Daily Living Skills
  • Adult Basic Education (Letter and Number Identification)
  • Social Skill Development
  • Workplace Behavior Instruction
  • Craft Activities to Increase Dexterity

The Work

Another part of the Pre-Vocational Program is production work. Similar to that of our Work Services Program, employees may work on assembling small parts, snowshoe manufacturing, light production and/or simple sewing machine operation tasks. The level of production work versus other educational programming is dependent upon the needs, abilities and desires of the employee.

Supervision

All of ORC’s employees who are served by Pre-Vocational Services are supervised by a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, a case aide and production supervisors.

A variety of educational, independent living and work activities are offered daily.

Fulfilling The Mission
The Pre-Vocational Program at ORC not only prepares an employee for successful employment with us, it also prepares the individual for the greatest possibility of success in obtaining employment in the community at large. This is the focus of our efforts, for the greater good of people with disabilities.
