from 31 reviewsWell, apparently the US ponchos do have plastic snaps. My 20+ year memory of my old army poncho is apparently fading me. That being the case, I give the poncho a 5 star review, so disregard the 3 star review. Material is good and the rings look strong.
This poncho is great! Just like the one I was issued in the army, but brand new with great snaps and hod closure. Top shelf construction. This is the “real deal”, not a cheap foreign knockoff.
The tent performs as expected and will keep you out of the elements. I tested it with my team during a mock disaster preparedness drill. It’s also a simple choice for a go bag/bug out bag tent for those that aren’t needing ultralight gear and prefer tents over tarp shelters. Would’ve preferred the woodland camo variant to be the first purchase, but I have one on the way now.
Finally a true military grade rain poncho, skip all the Amazon options, this is the one you need, full coverage, lightweight, durable, and kept me dry in a deluge
Very well made camo rain jacket. Hood folds up into the collar. Perfect as a pack/gear cover also. I'm size M/L got the Large and fits great even with kit underneath.
Just what I wanted, an authentic US Army poncho. Not like the rest of the advertisements that say "military style" which are not the correct material or size.
Purchased 3 ponchos and liners just like I have when I was in the Army in the 80's to go camping/hiking with my boys. Was not calling for rain so we took no tents and was planning on using this as a sleeping system. Unfortunately it rained all weekend off an on but at night we stayed dry and warm while using them to sleep in/on. Very good product and would purchase them again no question about it!
Note: I could return the item for exchange, this company has a trustworthy return policy, I just don't have time to mess with it.
Quality is truly top notch and USGI equal in material and workmanship. I wear a 2xl and sometimes a XL, and thought when buying a 2xl that it would provide a little more room for wear over a fleece jacket for 3 season wear. Instead, as a 6' 2" 250 pounder I found that it's 1/2 - 1" shorter than I'd like in the sleeve length (though it does work, no problem, so don't let that deter you), and a couple inches less roomy than I'd like in the chest. In fact, if I tried to wear a light jacket underneath this XXL, then the sleeves would probably rest 1" above my wrist line. Bottom line, this is a high quality rain jacket, just size it accordingly and if you're going for function more than looks, then order a size up for 3 season wear or you won't be comfortable with a jacket bunched up underneath. If it's just mild weather rain wear then you can go ahead and order your size it doesn't look too bulky. Love the jacket!
Brings back memories!
There is a reason ORC is the sole source for the US Military...
After I got mine I ordered my dad 1 and he loved it!
This poncho is excellent quality and craftsmanship. The snaps and grommets are sturdy and well seated in the poncho itself. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. This poncho is the ultimate rain gear. Semper Fi.
Arrived on time and was as described. Satisfied. Haven't used it yet, but am familiar with them, it's in the backpack ready if needed!
Overall very happy with the quality from Orc industries, would buy again. Ended up ordering my dad a tarp and poncho as a birthday present for his elk trip in CO, he loved it! Thank you ORC Industries.
