POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for transporting material to and from different manufacturing sites; schedules pick-up and deliveries of material for distribution or production use; responsible for maintaining and scheduling all Company owned vehicles; ensures all Company vehicles comply with State transportation regulations, i.e., licensing, inspection, safety, environmental, etc. Secondary responsibilities and additional duties to include facility maintenance and production tasks as directed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Schedule, or assist in scheduling, pick-ups and deliveries of material and other goods to be used or delivered by the Company; assist shipping and receiving with outgoing or incoming material movement, to include forklift operations;
2. Maintains vehicle usage records, i.e., fuel logs, mileage and destinations; ensures that Company vehicles are in good, safe and clean condition when assigned for use and upon return;
3. Maintains vehicle licensing and inspections as may be required by State laws and regulations; ensures that Company vehicles meet and operate according to all safety standards and that drivers are properly licensed or certified to use the vehicle assigned;
4. Transports material and assists in loading trucks or other Company vehicles to ensure efficient and effective use of vehicle(s) while complying with legal load limits, as well as vehicle and driver safety; maintains on-time delivery schedules; may be asked/required to assist shipping and receiving functions;
5. Responsible for and assist facility maintenance on various facility and equipment maintenance from grounds to machinery;
6. Assists with diagnosis malfunctions in machinery and equipment; requisitions supplies and spare parts to keep facility equipment, both production and non-production, operational; interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders;
7. May recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product; suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the production floor, department, or work crew;
8. Comply with all applicable EHS and Safety rules and regulations; must wear appropriate PPE when required;
9. Performs production related task(s) where needed to ensure requirements are met.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent is required; three (3) to five (5) years truck driving experience with an excellent driving record; must possess Class ABCD and preferred CDL licensing; must have prior fork lift certification (or able to obtain certification); must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers; must have good documentation skills.
